OUTCOME
I developed a complete brand identity designed to act as a gateway to the land. The visual system was created to be flexible and enduring, working seamlessly across signage, print, digital platforms, and merchandise. The final brand identity provides a strong and versatile foundation for Explore Nootka Tourism’s launch. It reflects the spirit of the land, honours cultural roots, and invites exploration from the sacred grounds of Yuquot to the wild waters of Nootka Sound.
The result is a meaningful, adaptable brand that gives the organization the creative tools to grow with clarity and confidence, while sharing a truly special place with the world.

Explore Nootka Tourism was launching more than a destination. They were introducing a story rooted in culture, land, and adventure. My goal was to create a brand experience that honoured the Nation’s deep heritage while inviting visitors to discover the untouched beauty of the region. This project required a thoughtful balance of respect, storytelling, and versatility to support a full tourism launch.

ICON DESIGN
At the heart of the identity is a modular logo system that can be used as a whole or broken into sections representing the four natural elements: earth, water, fire, and air. The colour palette draws directly from the Nation’s traditions and natural surroundings, reinforcing authenticity and cultural connection across every touchpoint.

This project required honouring deep cultural heritage while shaping a modern tourism brand. I focused on designing a flexible system that could adapt across real-world applications, ensuring symbolism remained meaningful rather than decorative. Every decision supported long-term growth, allowing the brand to evolve while staying firmly rooted in its cultural identity.

The website balances striking visuals with intuitive navigation, making it easy for travellers to plan their journey while staying immersed in the story of the land. Storytelling is woven throughout the experience, transforming the site from a purely informational platform into an open invitation to discover a place where history, culture, and nature exist in harmony.
